I love our country…OUR COUNTRY!

This isn’t a Red country or a Blue country. If it is, we are no longer a Red, White, and Blue country.

We must heal the divide and eliminate the hateful & hate-filled rhetoric. We cannot be the abomination that Trump has engendered, yet Trump is a symptom—the cure begins with a leader who sees the UNITED in the United States and the AMERICAN people in the United States of America.

We must have a POTUS who sees one people and one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

“The Pledge of Allegiance” was written in August 1892 by the SOCIALIST minister Francis Bellamy (1855-1931).

In its original form it read:

“I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

In 1923:

The words, “the Flag of the United States of America” were added.

In 1954

In response to the Cold War, Eisenhower asked Congress to add the words “under God!”

Know your history. Perhaps then we can come to an understanding of how we got to where we are today and how to work our way back to something we can cherish.

I love our country…Our Country!

“America, love it or leave it” is a sad, sorry, myopic saying from the 1960s. We can do better. We must do better!

“I should like to be able to love my country and still love justice. I don’t want just any greatness for it, particularly a greatness born of blood and falsehood. I want to keep it alive by keeping justice alive.” Albert Camus — Letter to a German Friend

Sam Elliot’s magnificent voice speaks to the Soul of America!
